Joanis holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Imperial College London and a Master’s degree in Engineering for Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge (Wolfson College). He combines hands-on experience running off-grid energy businesses with expertise in shaping the policies and business models that help them grow. INENSUS’ COO since 2020, he brings over 13 years of experience in rural electrification. Previously, he led BBOXX’s operations in Uganda and Kenya and E.ON’s mini-grid company Rafiki Power in Tanzania. His work spans policy, regulation, technical and financial aspects, with a focus on turning renewable energy solutions into viable businesses that power rural development. Joanis also has a fable for electric mobility and AI. Based in Nairobi, Joanis speaks German, English and French.
